A relief of Dante Alighieri, the Medieval Italian poet. Italian sculptor Ernest Pellegrini (1889-1955) worked in Boston for most of his life. He sculpted the marble reliefs of scenes featuring Christian leaders at the chancel and altar of Trinity Church in Boston. He also created the 17-foot-wide wood carving of da Vinci’s The Last Supper for the Upper Room Chapel (and now also Christian Art Museum) in Nashville.
